Awana Children

Available at: Downtown, Windsor Heights

Awana is a great place for your children to get connected with Jesus and other kids. Each meeting includes verse memorization, game time, and large group lessons. This program is open to children aged 3 through 6th grade.

CityLight Sports Children

Available at: Altoona, Downtown, Highland Park, South, Windsor Heights

CityLight Sports is a faith-based sports league that emphasizes healthy competition, skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, effort, and character.

CityLight is open to boys and girls starting at age 5 through 8th grade. CityLight provides first class, organized and detailed sports programming in basketball and cheerleading.

Kids' Classes Children

Available at: Altoona, Downtown, Highland Park, South, Windsor Heights

During each weekend service, Walnut Creek Church has Kids' Classes for children from age 3 through 6th grade. Children learn truth found in the Bible starting at a young age and classes are a fun way for children to grow in their knowledge of God.

Parent-Teen Ministry Teens

Available at: Windsor Heights

Parent-Teen Ministry (PTM) is a great way for teens to grow in Christ along with their peers while keeping parents connected and highly involved. PTM meets on Saturday nights at 5 p.m. at either our Walnut Creek Windsor Heights location or in various homes.

Campus Fellowship College

Available at: Downtown

Campus Fellowship is a Christian student organization at Drake University, Grand View University and DMACC campuses. Campus Fellowship is a group of college students who come together to seek God through Bible studies, outreach events, and worship services. Students strive toward real and authentic relationships as demonstrated by Jesus Christ.

Grace Circle Women

Grace Circle is a women's ministry committed to nurturing faith through Bible study and prayer, and building a caring community of women that witnesses to the promises of God's Kingdom. Join Grace Circle the third Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. as they study the full armour of God. 

Moms' Circle Women

Available at: Altoona, Downtown, Highland Park, South, Windsor Heights

Moms' Circle is a ministry designed to encourage and strengthen mothers of young children. Childcare is provided for children 6 and younger. Our schedule changes slightly from season to season so check the church calendar to see when we meet next or see a full schedule here

E-teams Outreach

Evangelism Teams (E-teams) give people with a passion for sharing the Gospel, more opportunities to sow the good news. As a church, we look for creative ways to share Jesus with our community. E-teams members receive helpful training on how to share their faith and love, encourage, and disciple new believers.

Welcome Outreach

Walnut Creek Church welcomes immigrants arriving in our community. Our partner, Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), provides non-credit ESL and High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) classes at Walnut Creek Downtown. Volunteers from Walnut Creek help by providing childcare during these evening classes.

We also seek to bless immigrants through our Good Neighbor Program. This initiative connects members of Walnut Creek to immigrants for the purpose of friendship, support, and spiritual guidance.

GriefShare Family

Available at: Downtown

GriefShare is for people grieving the death of a family member or friend. You’ll receive valuable resources to help you recover from your loss and look forward to rebuilding your life. Groups meet weekly and each session has three distinct elements:

  • Video seminar with experts
  • Support group discussion with focus
  • Personal study and reflection
