Walnut Creek Discipleship Challenge

          For the duration of 2009, I intend to keep specific commitments in order to live out the reality that I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.  By the grace of God and with an attitude of humility, while trusting in God and loving Him and others, I will do the following things:

1.    Asking – I will spend at least ten minutes every day in focused prayer.

2.    Bible – I will spend at least ten minutes every day in thoughtful Bible reading.

3.    Community – I will consistently attend the Sunday morning gathering and regularly meet with other Christians for mutual encouragement.

4.    Discipleship – I will be a disciple by striving to obey all that Jesus commanded and will disciple others in my life by teaching them to obey all that Jesus commanded.

5.    Evangelism – I will attempt to share the Good News about Jesus with at least one other person every month (by speaking the Good News, giving it in written form, or inviting to an event where it will be spoken).

6.    Financial stewardship – I will spend money responsibly and invest it in ministry regularly, sacrificially, and cheerfully.

7.    Gifts – I will use my spiritual gifts regularly to serve others in or through the church.
